Bohemian DIY Inspiration Shoot
It’s a fact: when Izzy Hudgins Photography and French Knot Studios get together, magic happens. That’s what we have with this bohemian inspired shoot, which is not only pretty to look at, but also comes with the perk of DIY tutorials. Check back later today with two tutorials from the French Knot girls to help get the looks seen here!
From the designers, French Knot Studios: Our inspiration has bold colors, sequin and beaded gown, and fun bohemian touches. We started with Cohen’s Retreat, the newest wedding and event venue in Savannah, Georgia. The historic property has beautiful hardwood floors, crystal chandeliers, and beautiful grounds. One wing is for events and the other is full of items for sale designed and made by local artisans. All of the table elements, including the fabulous bird are available at this eclectic venue. The centerpiece is made of yarn wrapped embroidery hoops wired together in three dimensions. Air plants are tucked in the threads and candlelight flickers into the night.
For the ceremony, French Knot Studios created this easy curtain of fabric circles in vivid jewel tones. Wedding gowns are beautiful, but not required for a chic nuptial. The bride and bridesmaid’s gowns are from a local boutique. The glittery sequins are perfect for the wedding, and could even be dressed down for a romantic honeymoon or anniversary dinner, or are ready for a museum gala. Large air plants are the perfect bouquet for the bridesmaids and can be kept alive in your home after the party. Flower crowns are always fun, but this succulent headband is striking, and like the air plants, able to survive long after the last dance of the night. Just pop off the succulents and place in some soil formulated for cacti and succulents.
