Blacksmith Inspired Wedding Ideas
Today’s styled wedding shoot just goes to show you can find inspiration in unlimited places. Tyler of Tyler Rye Photography formed this shoot after seeing an anvil in a farmer’s work shed. He brought Swoon Vintage Rental Co. and Floral Design by Erin on board to help complete his vision, and the rest is photo shoot history!
From the photographer, Tyler Rye: Forged was inspired by a simple Anvil. I was working at a farmer’s house and happened to look over and see his Anvil setting on a stand near his shed. It clicked in my mind how cool it would be to do a Black Smith themed wedding shoot. I started that day to gather antique smithing tools – everything from hammers to smelting tools. The couple that modeled are friends of my wife. They have been married for two years and this was a great way for them to reconnect as a couple. The location has been a dream spot for me ever since my wife and I had our Engagement pictures taken there 3 years ago! I had a lot of help getting this shoot ready and I couldn’t have done it without the help of my wife. Not only did she do the hair for the model, but she arranged both the tables and made them look amazing.

That bouquet is so pretty!
Such an honor to be featured on Ruffled! Thanks for the opportunity!
Oh my gosh, those portraits are amazing! What a fantastic concept and location for a shoot!
That last shot: golden!
Stunning! Black smithing has historically been such am important part of mountain life, and though it’s largely unneeded now, it’s always special to honor the past in new and modern ways!
It is a great looking shoot, really well done by all involved.
Oh my gosh this shoot is awesome! I love the ‘feel’ that Tyler Rye has captured with the use of light – very brooding but beautiful.
Love the Creativity!
Oh I LOVE this shoot! Love all the ruff elements and doing in the desert is the perfect touch!
Awesome concept for a styled shoot. Mix something tough like steel with floral bouquets. Perfect!
