Black Tie Ohio Wedding
Amongst a slew of beautiful weddings, a classic black tie affair will never lose its high ranking seat in the style department. Crisp black and white with blush pink accents as a color palette, this chic wedding shot by Amanda Donaho Photography hits the spot right on. Lots more to gawk over right here.
From Amanda Donaho Photography: In the fields of Oxford, Ohio, Callie & Robert had their perfect wedding day. A romantic chic wedding with a twist of vintage flair perfectly complimented Callie’s style. Special personal touches included bunches of love letters written to and from the bride’s grandparents during their courtship to one another, displayed next to the vintage typewriter. The bride’s gorgeous bouquet was wrapped in a piece of her grandmothers wedding dress, with her wedding rings dangling from the stems.

This may be one of my fave weddings from this blog of all time! I ADORE the black short BM dresses, the centerpieces with the pink roses etc. All gorgeous!
oh the shoes and that cake! so pretty!
Where did you get the black centerpieces from? i love them!
First, to answer Kim’s question, the black centerpieces are actually an assortment of different finds. My mother and I actually found the vases at a discount store for around $2.00 each and then spray painted them black. And the candelabras were also discount finds online.
Second, we are so honored to have our wedding featured on Ruffled. I used this blog often for inspiration! We knew pretty quickly that we wanted to have our wedding on Miami University’s campus (where we met!) because it provides a picturesque backdrop for everything–from the old stone chapel on the university’s wooded western campus, to the vintage ballroom where we held our reception, and even to the famous Upham “kissing” Arch, located in the middle of campus. Our goal was to have a classic, simple, yet stylish, wedding that would never go off trend. And I definitely wanted to honor my belated grandparents and their love that spanned over 50 years–which included displaying the letters they wrote to one another while my grandfather was away during World War II and tying their wedding rings to my bouquet as my “something borrowed.” Everything came together for a truly perfect day of love and celebration.
Love the colour combination of the black centre-piece with white and pink. Glass-ware is beautiful as well.
Great looking couple. Photographer’s done a great job capturing the moments and details of the wedding.
😀
That’s where I went to college! The campus is so pretty and I remember wishing to kiss someone under the Upham arches 🙂 Congrats to a fellow-Miami alumni couple!!
