Bel Air Wedding with a Tropical Ombre Floral Arch
Today is your daily reminder to live colorfully. Take a cue from Katrina and Jesse whose Bel Air wedding with a tropical twist abounds in vibrant pinks, tangerines and all the citrusy hues between. We’d confidently say their goal of throwing a party to remember was well achieved. Cause let’s face it, you can’t have spectacular ocean views, an ombre chuppah, handpainted tile motifs, lively dance parties and delectable midnight treats with 250 of the people you call dear without it being an unforgettable day. K+J are reminding us to live and love spiritedly as we step into the weekend, and to them we’re toasting a massive cheers!
From the stylist, Jolene, of Laurel & Rose: One of the first things our lovely bride, Katrina, said when we started the planning process was that she wanted it to be “a party, a celebration, and all about FUN!” Katrina & Jesse got engaged at the beach and wanted a venue that allowed them to get creative with fun colors & concepts and also showcase gorgeous coastal views, which is what they love about Southern California. The lovely couple had friends and family coming from all over the country and wanted to create the ultimate LA beach weekend.
Once we decided on the beautiful Bel-Air Bay Club for the wedding venue, Katrina was inspired by the authentic Spanish-style architecture and wanted to incorporate that inspiration throughout. One of the most fun elements from a planning perspective was the way the couple embraced color, texture, patterns, and plants. The Casa de Perrin Transatlantic chargers were a motif used throughout the wedding – from the invitation design to the escort card board and tabletop decor. Florist Inessa Nichols took the inspiration and expanded on it in the best way imaginable and the ombre chuppah was the perfect way to frame the gorgeous beachy backdrop. We loved the combination of colorful plants (bougainvillea) and flowers and brought in tropical plants to create a more green and vibrant look inside the Club for the reception.
Holding true to the couple’s desire for a FUN party, we greeted guests with sparkling rosé and watched them dance the night away to West Coast Music’s Midnight Special Band. Not one of the nearly 250 guests left the party early and we sent them off into the night with a colorful (and delicious) pastry from LA’s Pitchoun Bakery!
