Opulent gowns, crisp invitations, metallic-hued tapers… we fell straight into a daydream as we perused today’s Art Deco wedding inspiration set in the historic Italian region of Le Marche at the very cafe artists like Ernest Hemingway once frequented. Distinction and grandeur aplenty, we found ourselves gasping audibly with every frame. So let this dazzling wedding inspiration transport you to one of the golden eras of history, and maybeeeee play some classic Italian jazz in the background as you do.
Matteo Crescentini gives us all the more reason to hop on the next flight to Europe as he captures the captivating beauty of the fashion, flowers, vintage jewelry and Italian architecture.
And how bout the way Merry Le Marche combined past and present in this 20’s inspired love story? Just wait till you see the classic china paired with mercury goblets and mismatched brass candlesticks on the sweetheart table overlooking the city… it’s to die for!
Not to mention these invites from Auca Design are a total winner with their mixed prints and period fonts.
A reception with a view, this tablescape is bumming with just the right balance of black + gold magic, brought to us from the fab team at Tableset Luxury Rentals.
No time better for a tableside serenade from Riccardo Foresi & That’s Amore!
The gowns from Eliza Jane Howell allude to the styles of the era – fluttery sleeves, feather appliques, sequined patterns and tints of metallic color.
Nina E I Fiori does not disappoint with her arrangements of golden orange petals and beautiful native blooms.
Embellished heels with romantically twisted straps from Emmy London? Yes, please!
The Exquisite Collection couldn’t have picked a better name because this vintage ruby engagement ring with an Art Deco style band is just that!
Roxy Rose Wedding gave this bride a swept back retro wave ‘do with ruby red lips. Totally Daisy Buchananan chic.
From the photographer, Matteo Crescentini: Oh, the places you find in Italy if you just travel off the beaten track. For instance, if you venture in the pretty city of Ascoli Piceno in the region of Le Marche, you will find one of Italy’s best preserved historic café. Caffè Meletti is a true work of art framed in one of Italy’s finest squares. As you push the wooden door, you are taken back 100 years. Original Thonet chairs and coffee tables, frescoed ceilings, soft green velvet seats and an army of perfectly attired wait staff and bartenders. If you close your eyes you can almost hear swing notes playing and can picture Hemingway, who used to love this place, having a coffee at one of the tables. Our goal was to honour this place by bringing back to life a genuine 20s mood and in order to do that we joined forces with an Italian-English team.
If Italian weddings are kind of your thing, there’s more inspiration this way at an Umbrian castle!
And don’t miss the period vidoe below from 2become1! It’s like an actual time machine.
