Arroyo Grande Barn Wedding
What’s better than a cute bride in glasses? How about an equally cute, relaxed wedding day in Arroyo Grande, California with tons of personal touches, for starters. Danielle Poff, Planimation Events, and Lori Boe Floral Design helped bring Lauren and Ben’s vision to life, which meant a laid-back atmosphere that still brought in a bit of fanciness.
From the bride, Lauren: I think our wedding is best described as a relaxed but upscale gathering. I really tried to ensure our family, friends and ourselves felt as comfortable as any other night of the week. But keeping the look and feel of our wedding a notch above casual. I made sure that every aspect truly represented “us”, which made it so much fun and so easy to plan. We put touches of our rabbits on the confetti pops, we brought in a folk band to dance to, I kept my glasses on and we drank a lot of beer and ate sandwiches.
Our vision was a relaxed, elegant picnic/gathering, rustic (not country), whimsical, botanical accents, with hues of navy blue, soft ivories and natural watercolor green. I really wanted the flowers and the venue to be the main decoration. Think of Snow White (there were a family of deer in the background of our ceremony!- when does that happen…) As for DIY, I made sweet & spicy bread and butter pickles and then spiced picked carrots and put them into Weck Jars for favors. My husband and our dear friend Robert Wyngard made the head table. It was beautiful! and now we have a table for our home.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? It is so important not to sacrifice aspects of your wedding because you are afraid of what guest will like or want to see. Do exactly what you want, and know that your wedding guests are going to have the best time because you did! We wanted sandwiches for dinner, and gosh darn it, we got sandwiches!
