April Showers Inspiration Shoot
We just love when vendors can take a negative and turn it into something so positively beautiful. Event stylist Jessica of Love Bird Style designed an inspiration shoot for a couple who were victims of last year’s flood in Nashville, Tennessee. We adore the idea of turning this into a bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, or even a wedding reception! Our thanks also goes out to Ulmer Studios for the wonderful photographs.
From the stylist, Jessica: We wanted to create an event that embraced the showers that come with spring and the new life that it brings. We chose to host a “shower” for a couple who were victims of the Nashville flood exactly one year ago. This “shower” theme could easily translate to an engagement party, rehearsal dinner, wedding or even a re-shoot if it does rain on your special day!

Those hanging vases are amazing! A very touching and beautiful shoot!
May i ask the bride to be where she bought that adorable dress??
Ruffled, thank you so much for showcasing this shoot! We literally did this shoot right after it rained and while it started raining again…. it was a fun challenge to work with the weather rather than against it. Big thanks to Ulmer Studios, Red Ribbon Fox Design, Artisan Flowers and a great couple!

Jamie, the dress is from Forever21!
LOVE the paper raindrops and those oh-so-pretty watercolored plates!
so adorable! & i love that raindrop garland! 🙂
ahhhh this is tooooo cute! I love those raindrop strands!
soooooo beautiful! I am in love with those raindrops! 😉
I totally concurr. The hanging teardrop vases are the BEST most awesomest, themeiest, coolest bonanzashiasiatsa vases ever! (Yes I’m just making up words now). But I love them. That is all.
Oh, except, wild thought… colored water in the vases…? Bad or good? Like a rainbow?
This is so beautiful! I just love the colors and details, and the romance of salvaging a sad story and creating this beautiful shoot!
Emily, thanks so much, I think if I had to name a single goal with all my floral designs it would be to be the “themeiest” I can be! I think I will adopt that word.
Jen, perfect description of the sentiment we wanted to nail, taking an “oh no” and turning it into something beautiful.
Thanks for all the comments.

I love this warm tone you have created in your photographs. gives them a vintage look but they remain contemporary and modern. would love to create this effect in my own work!
I can’t say enough, how much we LOVE this session!! So creative and beautifully done.
oh.I.love.this!
Rain is like my favorite thing ever so I’m in love with this shoot. How did you make the raindrop garland/hanging vases?
Luke, Thank you so much for your compliments on our work & our post processing.
We do try to create true to life images just with a lil special touch… The colors in the designs really do help with the vintage feel as well. Color plays so much into how a “subject” photographs & how the image will look. 🙂
Where/Who made those cute favor bags?!?
