Amalfi Coast Destination Wedding
In the early stages of wedding planning, bride Anna did a search for “the most beautiful place on Earth” and was treated to images of the Amalfi Coast. Instantaneously, Anna and John knew they’d be flying out from Portland, Oregon to visit the jaw-dropping Italian coastline to exchange their vows among their very closest friends and family. Photographer Jessica Watson captured the details of the adventure, including the mother of the bride’s engagement ring tied to her bouquet as a loving reminder.
From the bride, Anna: The decision to have a destination wedding was pretty much the only decision for us. We didn’t just want one night; we wanted an adventure. But we did have a hard time deciding WHERE to have that destination wedding. We looked at several different areas of the world and none of them were right. So one night, I just googled “most beautiful places on earth” and the Amalfi Coast of Italy came up. And that was that. I sent to to my fiancé (now husband) and asked what he thought. He was immediately sold – yep, that’s where we were supposed to get married.
Any advice for brides planning their weddings now? Hold your ground. You are going to come up against a lot of strife (most likely) before, during, or after. This can be from friends, family, coordinators, vendors or just the universe. Destination weddings can be hard – but if they weren’t hard, everyone would do them. Also, take some alone time. When you get married at a destination wedding, your celebrations are not just one night, they’re days. Numerous wonderful days with those you love and who love you. But, after your ceremony, take some time to be alone with your spouse and reflect on the monumental and extraordinary thing you just committed to. Make sure you spend the money to hire the photographer you want. I can hardly remember details from the ceremony and the pictures bring me back perfectly. I can feel, smell and hear everything. That’s what good photography should do.

I’m usually lusting over the shoes of the bride, but…how cool are HIS shoes? Love it!
I’m in total awe of this wedding. What could possibly be more romantic than that? Like Sandra, I also love his shoes and her shoes. And the dress, the headpiece, the scenery….the list just goes on and on!
Great romantic feel to the images. I love the elegance of the wedding day and location.
A beautiful wedding in one of the most beautiful spots on earth.
