A Picturesque Greenhouse Wedding at Terrain
No matter how many times we see weddings at Pennsylvania’s Terrain at Styer’s, the venue never fails to wow us. Megan and Paul chose to have an intimate fall wedding with gorgeous autumn color tones, including burgundy, maroon, and lush greens. Maria Mack Photography was the perfect fit behind the camera for this couple’s beautiful day!
From the bride, Megan: We always knew we wanted our wedding to be on the smaller side, we didn’t want a big production with hundreds of guests. We wanted it to just be our immediate family and closest friends. Small, intimate and ambient lighting were three of the main objectives we were going for. We didn’t necessarily have a theme or color scheme, but I love fall and the colors. I knew that I definitely wanted to incorporate burgundy.
The guest book with the old window frame and vintage postcards was DIY. We picked out postcards that could be used later in our home as décor. My mom made the flower girl dresses. We incorporated the idea of the lace from my gown to the tops of their dresses. The groom did the music for the cocktail hour and reception by putting together playlists on an iPad.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? I would tell couples that only they know what their vision is for their wedding. It’s okay to ask others for their opinion but in the end they need to do what feels right for them. Others will often give unsolicited advice, just smile and say thank you. Also, if you have the opportunity to delegate tasks to others, do so, it will help to ease some of the stress. Lastly, you don’t need to invite everyone, yes, some people will get offended but in the end it’s your decision.

I absolutely love the wood wall in the greenhouse. It is so natural and warped, I really wasn’t sure if it was wood or fabric in the first shot. Beautiful.
