A Colorful, Contemporary Destination Wedding in an Italian Convent

Italianconvent Wedding

Have you ever wondered t how a centuries-old Italian convent turned into a dreamy, modern-day wedding venue? Read on!

The wedding celebrated the love of Emmi and Marcus, a charming young couple from England.
They chose a 15th-century former convent, in the middle of the countryside, for their special day; it was entirely outdoors, showcasing a vibrant palette of warm colors ranging from pink to fuchsia and orange, which adorned both the ceremony and the dinner tables.

Emmi, being an accomplished event florist, demonstrated her sophisticated taste by personally curating the colorful floral arrangements and the modern graphic designs, in collaboration with the wedding planner Manuela from “Agnese Sogna Sempre” and the florists at “Il Profumo dei Fiori.” The atmosphere was relaxed and characteristically Italian, filled with fun and friendly vibes, as guests mingled beneath the festoon lights and danced late into the warm, starry night.

Emmi and Marcus initially planned to tie the knot in 2021; however, they had to postpone their wedding twice due to the pandemic and Marcus’s commitments as a professional rugby player. Interestingly, he then joined a Serie A (1 division) rugby team in Italy, making their wedding venue choice all the more convenient.

The ceremony backdrop was designed with an ombre of roses and amaranthus ranging from warm creams to deep reds, which translated to a warm and inviting reception space with a family style reception setting with a long table.
