Scenic Vermont Wedding At the Bride’s Childhood Home
Easy, breezy, beautiful, Lucy and Graham’s scenic Vermont wedding is a wonder to behold. The bride’s relaxed take on Old Hollywood glamour is a masterclass in understated elegance – something that won’t take you long to catch on once you start exploring the gallery from Julia Luckett Photography below! Perfectly capturing the essence of fun and intimacy that L&G sought to achieve, Harlow & Dahlia Events let natural beauty shine – accenting the bride’s childhood home with rustic chic tables that were brimming with bright peonies, sweet bellflowers and dainty wildflowers tucked in the napkin folds at each setting. The tranquil pond ceremony, backdropped by the emerald trees and udulating mountains, must have been entirely unforgettable – as much for the views as for the couple’s personal vows to one another. Nectar & Root muddied the brighter pink tones with ochres, olives, burgundies and other transitional hues that perfectly echoed the changing seasons through fresh and organic blooms. Amid this picturesque mileu, it’s hard to imagine anything other than free-spirited bliss.
From the Photographer, Julia Luckett: Lucy & Graham’s chic summer wedding was a jubilant occasion at Lucy’s childhood home in Shaftsbury, Vermont. They married by a pond with views of the mountains and held a tented reception with colorful summer florals.
Lucy channeled a Marion Cotillard look for her wedding in an elegant Sarah Seven gown, and family friend and celebrity hairstylist Yves Durift styled her hair.
Lucy’s party dressed in colorful pinks and reds and florals by Nectar & Root brought the look of the day together perfectly. Wedding party includes renowned model Emma Ostilly of Elite Models.
The design of the tent was a mix of minimal style paired with colorful summer blooms, all sourced locally. The escort cards featured two childhood photographs of the couple and a wine opener for each guest. Crisp Catering Events created unforgettable food prepared in a farm to table style over open flames. Impeccable planning by Harlow & Dahlia Events who suggested Lucy & Graham choose a champagne pour over cutting the cake to great success.
Q& A with the Couple:
What was the most emotional moment of the day?
“Reading our vows was definitely the most emotional part of the day. Writing your own vows was scary (we both hate public speaking) but at the end of the day it ended up feeling like it was just the two of us standing up there and we were really only speaking to each other.”
What quality do you most admire in your partner?
Lucy: “Graham is incredibly supportive – he is always my biggest champion. He is this way with all the people he loves and its a really admirable quality.”
Graham: “I admire how caring and how much effort she puts into all of her relationships. She is a close friend to many and always the first to ask how someone is doing.”
What inspired you when you started thinking about planning your wedding? How would you describe the visual theme?
“We really wanted our wedding to be fun! Our goal was to invite people to the place that we both adore and make sure that everyone left feeling like they had just been to a really intimate wedding, despite the size. Our focus was on the band, food and wine more than anything else, as those are the things we thought were essential to having absolute ball.
Our visual theme was mostly just to let the natural beauty of Vermont shine. It was a perfect early summer day in Southern Vermont – that spoke for itself!”
Why did you choose this venue?
“It’s my parents home! I have so many fond childhood memories at the house, skiing and swimming in the pond in the summer. Graham actually first came up to Vermont when we were both 18 and just friends! It’s somewhere we both adore and were hoping to let people into that part of our lives.”
“Channel Marion Cotillard,” she did! Lucy’s loose, sideswept waves were the perfect complement to her scenic Vermont wedding in all its au naturale glory. With beauty all around and love at the center, we know these two lovebirds have a major “happily ever after” in store.
