A John Keats Poem Was the Muse For This Seasonal Wedding In A French Castle
Nothing captures the spirit of inspiration quite like poetry, and this wedding in a French castle proves it! With John Keats’ beloved poem “To Autumn” as the muse, Intens’Events Weddings dressed up the environment with such picturesque details as honey-colored chairs, stone fruits and peachy candles. Complementing these charming touches were whimsical floral pillars by Fleurs de Fée that appear to be plucked straight from the enchanting forest surrounding Sleeping Beauty’s cottage. Camy Duong Photographie preserved these visual heirlooms in stride, and we cannot wait for you to see how this couple moves joyfully through each frame.
To Autumn by John Keats
“Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss’d cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For summer has o’er-brimm’d their clammy cells.”
From the Planner & Designer, Intens’Events Weddings: This editorial was created as an ode to Autumn, to Nature, to Femininity, and to Love. 2020 has been hard for everyone: for our fellow colleagues of the wedding industry but above all for couples. We wanted to celebrate this time of year when nature is starting to fade, offering its last moments of abundance and its most vibrant colors before its long winter sleep, as a tribute to life and hope. With this joyful editorial we wanted to send a message of resilience to all the couples out there who have faced difficult moments this year. Your love is not canceled and the time to celebrate will come again!
This editorial was also definitely an occasion to celebrate femininity. Our young bride embodies the multiple faces of a woman. Bold and unconventional for her boudoir session in a gorgeous ethereal black dress from Daalarna Couture in the middle of a mystic fern forest created by floral designer Fleurs de Fée. Romantic and timeless to meet her groom and share their vows, adorning a white lace wedding gown and a beautiful headpiece from Gibson Bespoke. And finally fashion-forward and showing confidence in that minimal yet sculptural look from Daalarna Couture. The color palette was inspired by the season. We paired vibrant autumnal colors with romantic and feminine hues like soft pinks and shades of mauve. As a nod to the harvest season, we imagined an abundant wedding table, mixing a variety of beautiful blooms with fall forages, nuts and seasonal fruits.
It was refreshing to work with a real couple as they shared genuine moments of complicity and tenderness (and also so convenient in these times of social distancing!). Camy Duong Photographie beautifully captured this colorful story and the amazing work of such a talented team.
J’adore this seasonal wedding in a French castle forever! Now that you’ve soaked up the goodness of these honey + peach autumn tones, check out this ode to red next.
