A Tropical Bohemian Elopement In Chicago With Modern Metallics
Colorful flora abounds in this tropical bohemian elopement with with touches of shimmer and textural interest at every turn. Urban Allure Events transformed this modern indoor wedding venue into a festive oasis of tropical glam. From the laser cut coral envelopes to the circular backdrop dancing with draping and a mix of monstera leaves, sun palms, orchids, anthurium and beyond from Romee Willow Florals, we are hooked. Chicago based photographers Ed & Aileen Photography are giving us so much to say YES to in this tropical bohemian elopement dream, and we can’t wait for you to explore every curated detail with us in the gallery below!
From the Planner, Gina Anderson of Urban Allure Events: “With all that was going on in the world this year; postponement of weddings and events, cries for social justice and equality, fighting a global pandemic etc. I wanted to bring some love and joy back to not just the industry, but to society as a whole. The idea behind this Tropical Affair shoot was to transport everyone to an inclusive and diverse paradise escape where love is love and it conquers all. Anytime I think of my happy place, it always includes some tropical component and I wanted to bring that through in this shoot. I also knew I wanted to showcase the brand-new venue, Walden, and use it’s feminine yet modern aesthetic to display my vision.
I turned to experts Ed & Aileen Photography for photography and Emily Hogan Visuals for videography because I wanted those candid, heartfelt shots to capture the soul and personality of this styled shoot.
My remarkable florist, Romee Willow Florals, created a boho tropical vibe that incorporated dried/muted elements while still making sure vibrant palms, orchids, anthuriums, roses and many others were shown. Once that was decided, I wanted the rest of the decorative elements to compliment the florals. Which is exactly why I turned to Amore Creative for my custom-designed stationery with laser cut petal folds, Festive Frog and F&S Linens for my timeless and exquisite glassware and linens, and Blush & Borrowed for the incredible statement peacock chair as well as the other furniture pieces.
For hair and makeup, I wanted to bring out the natural essence and beauty of my stunning models Sierra and Lena. The coveted hair and makeup team, Teresa Marie and Diem Angie, understood the styling approach and executed it with absolute perfection. I knew I wanted Grace & Ivory’s gowns to show off their gorgeous collection of custom made-for-you bridal available for try-at-home. To go along with the try-at-home bridal, I selected Hitched for their fully customizable and divine home try-on wedding bands and Bittersweet for their delicious custom petite cakes, perfect for those intimate micro-weddings.
This select team of vendors took my vision and used their expertise to bring it to life. Whoever said ‘it takes a village’ wasn’t joking, this was my first styled shoot of many and words can’t describe how proud I am of it all and my supportive team.”
Pretty cool, right? Tropical accents + boho vibes will always be a dynamic duo in our book. If you loved this inspired fete, be sure to check out this tropical disco wedding in Bali next!
