Destination Wedding at Palacio Fronteira in Delicate Jade Hues

outdoor wedding reception at Palacio Fronteira with jade and gold accents

After a long-distance relationship that spread across two continents, it only makes sense that Laura & Stephan would have a destination wedding in Lisbon at the gorgeous Palacio Fronteira. The Wedding Portugal designed a breathtaking day with fuchsia at the ceremony and jade hues at the reception to accentuate the beauty of the Portugues azulejos that give the wedding venue so much life. We are in love with every dreamy detail perfectly captured by Portugal Wedding Photographer.

From the bride: My husband and I have family and friends spread out all over the world. So when came the time to plan our wedding, we needed a destination that would be enjoyable and easy to reach for everyone. It didn’t take long for us to decide that Portugal would be the perfect place for us, with its exceptional hospitality, charm and cuisine. We visited quite a few venues, but absolutely fell in love with the Palácio dos Marqueses de Fronteira. The palace has numerous walls covered with traditional portuguese tiles (or azulejos) which is what makes it particularly unique!

Organic and whimsical are the words that would best describe the general feel we wanted to go for, and the color theme included jade, gold and white. We wanted muted colors so that the beauty of the tiles would not be undermined. We only had stronger tones of pink and fuchsia for the ceremony florals, and the contrast of these colors with the blue walls was absolutely magical.

We went for traditional portuguese cuisine and had some traditional Fado performers playing at the cocktail hour. We added many personal touches such as the invitation stationery printed on seed paper (that you can plant) and the groom and groomsmen’s cuff links that I made.

Our wedding day was more than the celebration of our union. After having had to spend two years on different continents, Stephan and I truly felt that that day was the epitome of our fight against distance, circumstances and uncertainty. We are so grateful to everyone who brought our vision to life, and will cherish these moments for many years to come!
