Al Fresco California Wedding at Campovida in Shades of Gray
California weddings never cease to amaze us and this and this wedding editorial at Campovida will make you weak in the knees. It all started with a gray Shop Gossamer dress with flutter sleeves and intricate beading. With a touch of buttery yellow and pops of blue, Riley Loves Lulu planned a beautiful soiree in this breathtaking California wedding venue. The bride and groom say “I do” under a massive oak tree with a cascading floral installation of garden roses and photographers Alice Che and Emily Ganey caught every cheery detail that radiates romance.
From the photographer, Alice Che Photography: This editorial was originally inspired by the dress from Shop Gossamer, with its beautiful blue-gray color, the gorgeous flutter sleeves and lovely beading. From there, we loved the idea of adding butter yellow to the color palette and having touches of blue incorporated throughout the design in an elegant way.
When it came to picking a venue, we all fell in love with Campovida immediately. It is a breathtaking wedding venue up in Mendocino County surrounded by vineyards and incredible locations for portraits everywhere you turn.
We knew we wanted to feature the stunning oak tree on the property, but we wanted to do something a little more special than the standard arch. Allie of Bloomwell & Co created the most incredible cascading arrangement down the tree, using dahlias, roses, and ferns to enhance the natural beauty of the oak. The white-washed Bentwood chairs from Abbey Rentals were the perfect finishing touch to the ceremony set up.
For the escort card display, we used an abundance of flowers in bud vases on a gold bar cart with another floral arrangement on the bottom shelf. We then realized that the bud vases and bar cart would be perfect for the cake display as well, after escort cards were taken to the reception tables.
For the tablescape, Riley Loves Lulu chose gray velvet linens from La Tavola that set off the stunning gray-blue reactive glazed plates and elegant stemware perfectly. Bloomwell and Co’s arrangements were designed so it looked like they were growing right out of the table, adding the touches of yellow to tie in with the rest of the day.
When florals are that stunning, you want to use them in as many ways as possible! We repurposed the floral arrangements from the ceremony for the welcome cocktails that were nestled in the middle of Campovida’s beautiful garden.
The invitation suite from Slibbrecht Studio was the perfect way to set the tone of the shoot, with beautiful shades of blue and white ink printing in a floral design to evoke the garden feel of the day. We also brought in blue touches in the silk ribbon of the bouquet and boutonnieres from Poetry of Silk and the lovely cake from Shwaika Cakes.
We love all the natural beauty at Campovida and this California wedding venue has suddenly skyrocketed to the top of our favorites list. Speaking of wedding venues, make sure that you don’t make these 5 mistakes when booking your wedding venue.
