A Bold and Colorful Wedding in Basilica Hudson

Liz + John’s uniqueness, style, and taste for their wedding in Basilica Hudson went through the roof and gotta admit, Modern Kicks totally outdid this one! Even Hudson Botanica elevated the brick scene with its lush + color-popping florals and Pat Furey Photo was there to capture every surprisingly bold detail this wedding has to offer. With its high, structured walls and ceilings, Basilica Hudson called for big, bold design choices. Couple Liz & John tapped Modern Kicks for this, who helped the couple to bring their colorful vision to life… with lots of unexpected details.

Hudson Botanica created a lush asymmetric floral arch for the couple to be married in front of. Rather than throwing flower petals, the couple the flower girls tossed colorful confetti down the aisle before Liz walked up to meet John. After the couple said “I do”, everyone in the crowd threw gold mylar. Confetti. Everywhere.

The focal point of the reception was the oversized balloon and disco ball installation over the black & white dance floor…with a neon Biggie Smalls quote hanging nearby. The tables were kept simple with pops of color down the center and lucite table numbers hand-made and painted by Modern Kicks in a palette of purple, green, magenta and mustard. A fun surprise for the evening: a custom swing made for two and decorated with greens. Guests also took turns in the decked out “photo cave” complete with a cut out of the couple’s dog Stevie Licks.

Late night, the ceremony room was turned into a neon after party with late night pizza and glowsticks for days.
