Handmade Oregon Wedding
Sara and Josh’s wedding shot by Anna Jaye Photography is just about the perfect blend of masculine and feminine elements — wooden details mixed with lush pink and orange floral arrangements from Lamb’s Palisades Floral. One of my personal favorite aspects of this wedding is that bride Sara allowed her personality to shine through in her reception dress, opting for a bright coral number to match her maids!
From the bride, Sara: We envisioned a fun laid back event where our family and friends could celebrate with us on our big day!
I really loved coral and wanted bright festive colors to go along with that color! It was too hard to narrow down to two colors so I had many colors including: red, yellow, orange, blue, and kraft brown. Some DIY projects included: poms, table runners, napkin rings, banners, and CRANES! We folded 1000 cranes to honor my Japanese heritage. The tradition states that it is good luck to fold 1000 cranes so Josh and I folded many and it was great how so many loved ones volunteered to help and brought together everyone to contribute a little something to our special day.
Any advice for brides planning their weddings now? Don’t lose perspective. It is easy to be overwhelmed by the hundreds of things on our “to do list” to prepare for the wedding that we forget why we are melting down over something as silly as napkin colors! At the end of the day, we are still marrying the love of our life so just enjoy it!

From the photographer, Anna Jaye Photography: Sara and Josh’s wedding day was a wonderful reflection of the two of them; sweet, sincere and laid back. These two have an obvious and easy connection that’s a lot of fun to photograph. They created a beautiful celebration for their guests that centered on the special connection between the two of them. The playful details and beautiful location just added to the magic of this awesome day.

Love handmade weddings! we are going to shoot one in a few days.
I absolutely loved the cake table. The centerpiece was the definitely the white wedding cake, but the other cakes and desserts balanced it out. Beautiful presentation!

Really seemed like a fun and comfy wedding. Love the origami cranes although i’d never have the patience to make those – did you buy or make at a party full of people for help?
Such a beautiful wedding. I know it’s from AGES ago, but does anyone know where to get a similar hair comb from. It would match my accessories perfectly!
Where did the bride get her hair piece and earrings? They are gorgeous!
What farm is this? It’s beautiful!
Where is this location in Canby? Love the barn!
