Catalina Point Oceanview Wedding
It was just impossible to not be so enamored with this west coast wedding. Not only are the ocean views of the Pacific sheer bliss, but the heaps and heaps of purple and silver are incredible. Dave Richards Photography was thankfully present to capture the day, and every detail of this wedding was on point thanks to the planning expertise of Katie over at Bob Gail Special Events. Filling the reception with even more purple to look at, Hollyflora went wild with the arrangements of very classic lavender and plum-colored blooms. The pretty in this California wedding is almost too much to handle!
From the bride, Alexa: We wanted to embrace the natural elements of the resort but also make it feel like a west coast fall, which is why we went with vibrant purples and a classic, timeless feel. We went with a variety of purples as our main color with touches of silver.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? I think it’s important to know that from the get go that it’s just one day and just the beginning of your new lives together. There will be things that go wrong, but that’s okay. And there’s no way to make everyone happy. Just make sure to focus on the important things, like your ceremony! Finally, if you have a wedding planner, let her communicate what your wishes are to those people who are extra difficult. They are your ally!
Wedding Music:
We had a group sing and play string instruments before the wedding. They sang traditional Jewish songs as well as some classic opera songs, which I thought was beautiful.
Groom’s Processional: “God Only Knows,” The Beach Boys
Bride’s Processional: Pachelbel’s Canon in D
First Dance: “Crazy Love,” Van Morrison
