Romantic Elopement in Tehuacana

This shoot is all about romance and industrial style meeting and creating a beautiful outcome. Jeff Brummett Visuals was the photographer in charge and he captured the most astonishing shots of this dramatic editorial. Using Grit + Gold‘s planning and design skills and the creative floral handiwork by Something Pretty Floral, this antiquated school turned into an edgy and exciting backdrop. It was decorated in deep reds, snaking vines, and fine touches of gold for a slight pop for the eyes. The flowers were beautifully moody in the darkest reds and pinks imaginable. To break up the dramatic color palettes for the florals, sweet blush pink blooms were incorporated in. If you’re looking for wedding inspiration with darker tones and a slight Victorian feel, this shoot is definitely it!

From the event designer, Grit + Gold: Our design lends towards a dramatic and romantic elopement somewhere in Texas. The backdrop is an old school built in late 1800’s which now brings many artists from all over who admire capturing its beautiful ornate architecture and patina’d walls. Our bride’s boudoir look was a simple lace silk slip and layered tulle skirt. She changed later for a Rachel Zoe lace dress in black. Simple details like trellising greenery and heavy candlelight give off the sense of romance.

A setup of an array of candles adds a lovely and ultra-romantic touch to any setting, and it is decor that is timeless and effectively works with all kinds of styles. If you’re on the hunt for ideas to fill up a space or table that you feel looks too lacking in detail, gather candles of various sizes and intersperse them throughout the table or area. Pull in some dramatic taper candles with different types of candle holders for some more added extravagance.

  • The floral arrangement in the very first shot is CRAZY cool. I love the height! The font on the invites is slick too (the gold is always such a good move now) and the books I adore. So on point. I love it.
