Whimsical Oceanside Wedding
Bright and colorful are two words we get giddy about when we hear a real wedding description. Gaby J Photography had the liberty of hanging out all over Rancho Guajome’s grounds to capture Cinthia and Rick’s wedding. Add in some beautiful pink tones and ivory hydrangea and you’ve got a sweet day of celebration for the books!
From the bride, Cinthia: I tried to go for shabby chic, but ended up with of mixture of stuff. Our whole wedding was very much DIY. Rick was very adamant about not living together before we got married so we pretty much organized the whole wedding long distance. We considered many options for our wedding. Like having a cute elopement in Point Reyes CA or having a BIG wedding here in Vegas but we couldn’t find something we both could truly agree on. We had a budget so I started looking at state parks in San Diego. I found Rancho Guajome online. We checked it out on a weekend I was out there and booked it a week later. They were the most affordable with minimal restrictions. It was also very beautiful. The garden area where we got married had all the flowers in full bloom when we saw it the first time. One year later we got married and he relocated to Vegas.
For our color scheme I tried to use coral peach, soft mustard, mint green and cream colors, but didn’t get any of that. I pretty much let go of a lot of small details and let the girl that helped me with my planning pick the colors at the end. She tried to get as close as possible. For my bouquet I had peonies, garden roses, lil red coffee bean flower, some white wild flowers, and baby breaths as fillers. Floral arrangements on tables had Hydrangeas, green fillers and garden roses. At the end of the day I loved everything about my wedding day. We wouldn’t have had it any other way. If I had to repeat my wedding day over again I would do it exactly the same way. It was a very warm summer day with a nice breeze throughout the day.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Don’t stress to much about the small details. No one cares for the color of your napkins or wedding favors most of that gets thrown out after the wedding day. Know that the day of your wedding not everything will come out exactly as planned but that’s okay. knowing this ahead of time takes off a lot of stress of off you. Accepting anything that happens the day of your wedding makes your day stress free if you are okay having a couple bumps in the road.
