Retro Vegas Inspired Wedding

I’m not sure what I love most about this Studio Castillero and Bright Blue Events wedding day: Stefany’s big bouffant or the kooky Elvis impersonator that surely entertained their guests. Overall, I think I’m more enamored with the fact Stefany and David chose such a unique theme of retro Vegas weddings for their own wedding day style. The wooden reception tables were arranged with small centerpieces overflowing with blooms such as colorful hydrangeas and peonies. And check out that sweetheart table! Two mismatched chairs with a floral table runner in front and mint green, French-style doors topped off with a heart made out of more florals behind them. I definitely couldn’t help falling in love with this wedding!

From the event planners and designers, Bright Blue Events: Let’s start with the inspiration. Stefany & David wanted their wedding to be full of little nods to retro Vegas weddings, you know – the Elvis era. Stefany rocked a Priscilla Presley beehive hairstyle, the photobooth backdrop was covered in pink plastic flamingos, as was their invitation suite, and a real Elvis impersonator sang them through their First Dance song, I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You.

However, because their wedding was in the beautiful Topanga Canyon, they wanted to play up the pretty as well. Wooden farm tables were topped with lush peony arrangements, their sweethearts table seating and backdrop were vintage furniture pieces from Circa Rentals, and a tall, beautiful flower-covered naked cake sat nearby.

Aside from the retro Vegas details, the couple wanted to include some elements that showed who they were as a couple. Instead of traditional escort cards, the groom hand-drew each guest’s face and put the drawing in a little frame with their table number, which ended up being a real crowd-pleaser. They requested guests write their well-wishes on vintage postcards the couple had collected, in lieu of a guestbook. Each guest’s place setting had a little gold-painted animal with their name written on a watercolor-painted tag, made by the couple. Every little detail of this wedding showed Stefany & David’s thoughtfulness, creativity, and personality.
