Handcrafted Romance Wedding Inspiration

The inspiration behind today’s shoot started with the bridesmaid dresses, and it’s easy to see why. The delicate pattern and flowing material are not only easy on the eyes, they also set the imagination running! The wonderful team of Amy and Jordan Photography, Ashley Gain Weddings, and The Flower Studio tied everything together with a focus on attention to handcrafted detail.

From the event designer, Ashley Gain Weddings: Romance. The art of a brush stroke can say it all. The inspiration for the the shoot came from the authentic feel of hand-crafted design. The calligraphy ink, the hand painted flowers on the cake, the florals on the bridesmaids dress to the tiny rosettes on the china. The art of taking so many tiny handcrafted details and making them an overall concept. It started with the bridesmaids’ dresses. While so many brides have a hard time going choosing a “pattern,” these dresses allow a bride that wants to do something different but still have that timeless-romantic look. Jenny Yoo’s dress spoke to that subtle yet intrinsic feel that we then incorporated into the entire styled-shoot. The dresses inspired the stationary with torn edges, a simple color palette and china with pink and gold saturated hues that added hints of soft-spoken glamour.

Our florals matched the overall feel of the romantic but not deconstructed look of the romantic glam concept. Paired nicely with brass/gold details in the candelabras, perfectly paired china and flatware nothing was understated on this tablescape. Rattan chairs, wood and heavy natural fabric upholstered furniture along with a vintage ceremony window pane allowed us to keep the over all look from getting too formal. Even adding in a natural runner at ceremony that led to large bare pillar candles standing on the floor. We wanted to focus on that garden loving bride who still wants the dressy table and a detailed centered experience for her guests.
