Bright and Romantic Bridal Inspiration

When you have a bride and gown this gorgeous, it’s a shame not to build an entire shoot around them. Carolann Morgan Photography and Whitney Farnsworth Calligraphy and Design put together this organic and minimalist inspired wedding scene for Molly’s bridal portraits, full of brilliant backdrops and vignettes guaranteed to stun.

From the designer, Whitney Farnsworth: When you have a bride who is a natural born model, you just have to jump on the opportunity to create a inspirational shoot around her bridal portraits. And with a stunning new venue opening up in town it’s not hard to choose where they ought to take place. The uniqueness of Molly’s bridal photos lies in the ease in which she fit into the bright and airy backdrop of One Eleven East. There is nothing more exciting for a creative then to start with a simple white canvas knowing you can head in any direction. Without taking away from the original 1893 architecture, we created a minimalist shoot that incorporated the uniqueness of the space with the bride’s style.

Inspiration for the shoot stemmed from the incredible blank canvas that is One Eleven East. We love the historic and timelessness the space provides and decided to go with an organic wintry theme for Molly’s bridal portraits. We chose a simple color palate of whites and greenery, with the only pops of red showing up in the bride’s lip color and cozy chair. The bride wore a one of a kind ensemble, which she pieced together herself. The top, from For Love and Lemons, was paired perfectly with the romantic skirt from BHLDN. We wanted to incorporate a warm cozy feel, which we brought in through antique brass candlesticks, antique tables and chairs, and a red velvet chair from Revive Vintage Rentals. The scripted banner, created by Whitney Farnsworth Calligraphy, holds an eloquent love letter dated back to the 1800’s from a soldier writing home to his dear wife. The letter is a reminder of the fierceness of love and the bond which holds us together.

White, being the focal color, was carried throughout the shoot with the florals, paper goods, table settings, and beautifully scripted banner hung on the white brick wall. The walls, which reached 15 feet high from the 122-year-old pine floors, begged for a greenery wreath large in size. The wreath hung roughly five feet in diameter and became the focal point of the space. A large organic bridal bouquet in hues of whites and garland strung across the table and the backs of chairs blended together to create the simple and organic look of the shoot. Carolann Morgan captured the entire day so beautifully. It was such a joy working with this team of creatives!
