English Garden Wedding Ideas
Let’s bask in sunny and luscious pastures for an editorial wedding shoot brought to you by event designers Kelly Oshiro and Tricia Fountaine. Amongst delectable antique jewelry and dreamy florals abound, we find ourselves swooning over these garden wedding ideas in a nursery. Beaux Arts Photographie was in charge of the gorgeous photos, which you can see more of here.
From Kelly OshiroI’m a big fan of anything English and I wanted to do a tea time shoot for a long time. I was working a wedding at Rancho Dos Pueblos and they had just cleared out an old greenhouse for events. It was the perfect backdrop. I asked Tricia Fountaine (a talented florist and event designer and location manager at Rancho Dos Pueblos) to collaborate with me on the shoot. For photography, I knew I wanted to work again with the uber-talented Kirsten Ellis of Beaux Arts Photographie.
Tricia Fountaine and I began by collaborating on the design by going through her massive collection of props. I pulled dresses from Monique Lhuillier, vintage costume jewelry from 33 Jewels, hats from Louise Green and casted the model. For additional props, Found Vintage Rentals lent us their amazing tufted couches, old garden chairs, and a number of architectural pieces.
For the ceremony design, I found wisteria trees at a local nursery and loved the shape and scale for the ceremony design. We used that as the center point for the ceremony and then built the rest of the decor around that. I referenced the conservatory in Pollyanna for additional inspiration and we added lots of leather fern, fuchsia, lavender and hydrangea.
For the reception table I used old fashioned ticking as a classic base for the table. Wicker chargers were so appropriate and I had custom lavender napkins made that had a slight menswear texture. Instead of a fabric runner we used leather leaf to create a lush “greenhouse” look down the table. Tricia created floral arrangements in lavender and peach for the flowers and blended in her collection of fine china, colored glass, vintage beads, old books and tarnished silver.

This is so gorgeous. I love the fact that the weather is a thousand times better than anything we’d have in England! So beautiful.
Absolutely gorgeous!
I especially love the pensive, tranquil surroundings, and the bare feet + wooden fence + friendly horse photo. So sweet!
true true english garden feel to this! love!
Wow, where did they find that beautiful vintage dress? What era is it from?
This wedding, the details, the colors, the photography, are all stunning! Truly beautiful!
I love when nature and fashion come together to create a beautiful setting!
WOW- beautiful, love the Wisteria.
This is beautiful, I love the greenhouse idea! The last picture makes me swoon.
What a dream of a wedding. This is how I picture an Elizabeth Bennet sort of wedding dream.
I love the settings and the dresses… I can’t stand the faces that the models are making!! It looks like they’re going to a funeral, not getting married. It totally ruins it for me!
