Big Sur Woodsy Wedding
Is there a more a more perfect location for a woodsy wedding than Big Sur? This wedding captured by Ever Whim Photographs will charm you with its style. The bride Gabie is a girl after my own heart – I am so madly in love with her glittery heels and tea length wedding dress! The couple handcrafted most of their wedding, so be sure to check out the gallery to see lots more from this little gem!
From the bride, Gabie: when Matt and I moved to California we fell in love with Big Sur. Matt asked me to marry him on our favorite beach there. We knew right away that Big Sur is where we would have our wedding. After researching a few locations we decided to stop by the Henry Miller Library and instantly fell in love with it’s woodsy charm. Adjectives that best describe the look of our wedding are vintage, woodsy, bright and cozy… The colors I used were different shades of orange, yellow and pops of bright robins egg blue. My sister, Madeleine( plus a few other helpers, Kris, my mom, Matt) and myself made all of the tissue paper flower napkin rings. I also collected vintage milk glass vases for the table. I made place cards and a friend, Jamie Coxon, made the the frame that held them. We also made all of the honey jar favors and I drew our “wedding tree” for our guest to sign.

Gorgeous dress! I also love the bright bouquet.
This bride and groom have beautiful style, and they designed a wedding to match it! Perfect!
Love everything about this wedding, especially the bride’s bright lips!
Gorgeous wedding! I’m actaully getting married in Nimpomo – might I ask, where did you purchase flowers wholesale?
LOVE and adore her dress. Priscilla of Boston is just a darling line, and this gown is no exception. Its one of my most favorite styles!
The green bus is just right too! Where did they get that from? Is that theres? I was doing an engagement session on Sunday and the couple wanted an old bus so bad but we didn’t know how to find one… I finally saw a beautifully restored and kept one in a Walmart parking lot on Saturday- LOL- and left a long note on the guy’s car with my business car asking if we could use it! LOL Needless to say he didn’t respond. Too bad!
I love the colored, orange napkins- hand sewen? GREAT IDEA! Maybe I should do that for my house! Weddings can give us such great ideas for feathering our nests don’t you think?
Thank you so much for including the bride’s shoe designer! Too many blogs leave out that information and with the artistic style of macro or tilt shift photography you can almost never read the label! Horray for Kate Spade! Ha!
GREAT WEDDING! My favorite for this month I think!!!! 😀
What a wonderful venue for a reception! I love the ‘thrift shop chic’ collections of eclectic table settings!
Matt and Gabie’s wedding was awesome! They also rocked our photo booth, you can see some of the cute photos on our blog….https://moorephotobooth.blogspot.com/2011/06/gabie-and-matts-wedding-big-sur-ca.html

the details on her gown are so pretty! love the lace!
So lovely! Would the bride mind sharing the name of the flower mart in Nipomo? I am planning a Big Sur wedding and would love to know where she got the beautiful flowers. Thanks!
Oh I just love the dress!!! Any chance you will be selling it on Gabie? I’m in Australia and it looks difficult to get my hands on one… Would happily pay the postage!
Cheers,
Liz
There is everything right about that groom’s beard. I am using these pics to convince my fiance to free his fuzz.
