Lincoln City Beach Wedding Editorial

We always love the romantic nature of beach weddings, but this styled shoot photographed by Hazelwood Photo during the golden hour is just beyond. Amber Votel and Swoon Floral Design worked on the design and floral arrangements, and they used natural elements like thistle, stones, and wood to keep everything looking organic, relaxed, and positively timeless.

From the event designer, Amber Votel: This modern coastal styled shoot was conceived by event stylist Amber Votel and shot by Hazelwood Photo. We were inspired by the rich textures, natural elements and moods found at the sea shore – the breeze, the sand, the dunes, and the sunset at golden hour. We kept the color palette soft and minimal- sea glass blue, creamy white, dusty sage green and lots of earthy browns and grey. Shells, coral, stones and wood were combined with glass, linen and metal creating a textural modern bohemian mix. Brass lanterns and wood and glass vintage pieces seem to have been sourced from an old ship.

Lincoln City, Oregon was the perfect backdrop for the shoot. The beach was misty and windswept with a colorful golden sunset, soft grassy dunes and nature all around. We were also just paces away from Proposal Rock, a huge natural rock formation rising from the sea, renown as a romantic destination as the name suggests. The bride and groom had a laid-back modern bohemian look perfect for casual outdoor nuptials. Her long sleeve deep v-neck dress by Elizabeth Dye was styled with a simple green satin sash and bold brass and rough-cut gemstone jewelry. Her beauty look was fresh and simple- hair was a loose, windswept braid and makeup was soft and natural, reflecting the natural tones of the scene. Modern effortless elegance.

The bouquet combined classic white blooms with lots of textural greenery into a loose wild composition. The arrangements scattered on the tables resembled seaweed pearls, sea plants, and textured flowers or grasses that could have been plucked from the dunes. We collaborated with some amazing local vendors and artists who expertly translated the feel of the sea into a perfect wedding day look. The gorgeous dappled ombre cake by Artisan Cake Company featured an elegant swirl of candied sugar that spun around like a wave from the deep. Favors were earthy scented hand shaped soaps by Roots Soap Co. that appeared to be stones from the shore. The paint by number coastal wedding suite by Factory Made reflected the soft colors and textures of the scene. Swoon Floral Design created the amazing floral arrangements and Kirstie Wight Makeup conceived the beauty look. Rentals from Something Borrowed Vintage Rentals and hand made items from Forest Meets Sea and Farm Walk Road accentuated the table. Jewelry pieces were designed by Lumafina, By Angeline and Love Tatum.
