From the creative director, Jenifer Rodriguez: Our styled shoot is called “Marsala Goddess,” inspired by Pantone’s 2015 color of the year “Marsala”. Our motto is breaking wedding rules! That’s right, we want to break all the rules (troublemakers). We love untraditional design. Our creative direction was eclectic, boho, and sustainable. Not only does this shoot combine rad wedding artists but, we are trying to promote love + awareness about sustainable weddings. We want all couples + wedding industry professionals to know that you don’t have to sacrifice style by going green. Sustainable weddings are just as beautiful + great for the environment + your local economy! Everyone who contributed in this collaborative styled shoot is a Chico wedding industry professional from the handmade upcycled dress to the handmade raw copper jewelry + momma moon wind chime! Our shoot was ZERO-WASTE. We composted, recycled, reused, + donated. Our advice to brides is GO LOCAL + SUSTAINABLE!!!

Our details included glass place settings hovering over hellebore blooms, ranunculus heads, and delicate pansy petals which featured two quotes representative of the pairs love for each other. The invitation suite was also made of pressed petals between layers of glass with a streamlined welcome for guests. The bouquet was arranged with a wild, loose style that allowed the movement of each particular flower to shine. It was composed of marsala dahlias, pansies, ferns + other greens, flowering branches, camelias, ranunculus, + hanging amaranthus. The garland on the table featured dainty + personality-filled marsala pansies, homegrown ranunculus provided by Turkey Tail Farm, + other accents. Molly Ryan Florals also designed beautiful flower bracelets, anklets, + a garter.

All our props were locally sourced from antique shops. Our sweetheart table was composed of eclectic + boho tabletop decor that featured copper, amber, marsala + gold rimmed glasses, hammered copper flatware, copper candle holders, + wood geometric napkin rings. Our swag bar cart also included lots of copper details with marsala + berry tone glassware + cloth napkins. We featured local wine + drink mixers. Not to mention a beautiful wood + copper wine rack! The beautiful gown that our bride wore was upcycled + designed by Crystena Hemingway of Rekindled Garments. The gown was originally a long sleeved dress from the 40s. The bodice was reconstructed with a vintage bustier + other heirloom laces placed in all the right places. All the jewelry was hand cut + hand hammered by Earth Momma Originals. Most of the jewelry was copper or brass + featured raw ruby stones, local quartz, flashy labradorite beads, + sapphire accent beads . Our momma moon wind chime was hand cut and made of copper with local quartz. Our bridesmaids wore local dresses from Syllabus, a local shop. Our groom was styled by himself, Independent Style Consultant at Gents which included locally sourced vintage gear. We ended our shoot with an intimate boudoir session that featured local lingerie designer, Siobhan Barrett (now based in Brooklyn, NY). She designed a beautiful Silver Blue Lace Lingerie Bodysuit. The bodysuit had deep side cut outs with a small elastic band stretching around the neck and around the back.
