Creative Toronto Wedding with Stylish Backdrops
Make sure you’re cozy in your seat, because today’s wedding from A Brit & A Blonde, Darling & Daisy, and Blush And Bloom is a doozy. Aleksandra and Dave’s wedding in Toronto was full of the most incredible touches, including a darling sweetheart table with a sequin backdrop, a cake table with endless treats, and a ceremony setup I could stare at for days on end.
From the photographers, A Brit & A Blonde: There’s nothing more exciting for a wedding team than a couple who dreams of an explosion of creativity for their big day. Every single part of this wedding was rad, stunning and perfect. There were so many details that are just to lovely for words. The couple brought together some of the best Toronto wedding vendors to create what the bride Aleks called her “Dream Team”. Mercedes from Darling & Daisy was the creative director pulling together a most gorgetastic and whimsical look and feel.
Aleksandra works in a library and is passionate about reading, which inspired such details as the book page backdrop and library card “seating chart.” Beet & Path designed personalized library cards which include the guests name, meal choice, and an itinerary on the flip side. Each guest retrieved his or hers in a vintage library card box. The room was adorned by candle light, lace, books and flowers. Blush and Bloom created, garlands, bouquets and an abundance of centerpieces featuring pink peonies, mums, a variety of roses, and greenery arranged with a lush yet organic flair. The vintage furniture added character and a sense of family comfort to the wedding.
A focal point of design was the ladder archway under which the vows took place, later transformed into an elaborate sweet display on the dance floor. The Wedding cake Shoppe baked the most delicious variety of cakes, pies, cookies, cupcakes, tarts and everything your sweet tooth could possibly crave. Darling and Daisy hand made a “Sweet Love” marquee sign, labels for each treat and styled the display incorporating a sequins table cloth, bar cart, 2 vintage desks and of course – tons of beautiful foliage. We have literally never seen so many flowers – the reception set up was gorgeous and felt like a garden.
From the bride, Aleksandra: We wanted the day to be about us and our unique relationship; and we wanted to share that with our closest family and friends. We are very untraditional, we planned our wedding, then told our family and friends, and then did the “formal proposal” We instantly decided that we would not do anything that we didn’t feel comfortable with, especially the traditional aspects of weddings that didn’t have meaning to us. We decided that we would spend as much time as possible together, we woke up together, had breakfast together with family, and we saw each other as soon as we were ready. We walked down the aisle together too. We wanted to the whole day to be a reflection of us and our style; fun, casual and pretty, basically we wanted to host a great party.
So fun and filled with pretty DIY touches!
This wedding is charming. I love all of the sweet touches and the telephone incorporated into the centerpieces-just adorable!
