Natural + Romantic Wedding with Macrame Details

How could you possibly go wrong with a macramé backdrop for your wedding ceremony? Kathryn and Nathan’s wedding was an ideal blend of vendor talent (Tart Event Co. and The Green Flamingo to name a few) and helping hands of family and friends. The blend resulted in a romantic, personal, yet sophisticated day, all captured by Jeffrey C. Gleason Photography.

From the event designers, Tart Event Co.: Kathryn and Nathan’s story began when they met in 8th grade. The following nine years were filled with memorable high school & college experiences together, but also times of great loss. Kathryn & Nathan found their love strengthening as they supported each other through the devastating loss of a grandfather, a best friend, a brother and a father. During their wedding planning process, it was important to them both that these loved ones were remembered. With the help of their family and friends, their ceremony and reception was a celebration of love and support, filled with handcrafted details and thoughtful moments of honor and remembrance.

Vendors and friends came together to create a magical ceremony set-up for Kathryn and Nathan. A foraged branch arch from a friend’s backyard was topped with a handmade macramé piece, both created by two of the couples’ dear friends, and finished off with a gorgeous flower piece from the Green Flamingo. The intimate space was accented with bright red rose petals placed in-between wooden mismatched chairs and benches from Paisley and Jade. All of these elements created the intimate & natural space that the couple envisioned to welcome their guests and host their vows to one another. There was not a dry eye when Nathan greeted his bride and her mother at the end of the aisle as Kathryn’s brother-in-law played an acoustic cover of Bright Eyes’ “First Day of My Life” on the guitar.

At the reception, a personal touch was integrated into every detail. The bridesmaids gathered the day before the wedding at a flower bruncheon to create the floral table arrangements. The cake was topped with more bright florals and a laser cut cake topper, which integrated the handlettering from the couple’s custom stationary. The table numbers were hand painted by the bride, and another friend created a custom brewed IPA beer (“Hoppily Ever After”) just for the occasion. Boka Kantina, whose food truck is a weekly visit for the bride and groom, provided a taco buffet, much to the delight of every guest. Continuing the Mexican food theme was a traditional sangria and a bucket of churros on the sweets table. The speeches by the bride’s two sisters and the groom’s brother were filled with touching words of support, endearment and an overwhelming show of love for a couple who have supported each other through the best of times and hardest of days. Like all good parties, there was much dancing and fun to end the evening.
