Bohemian Nouveau Styled Wedding

Note to self: if you want to see bohemian wedding inspiration done right, look no further than the talents of Off BEET Productions and Karma Flowers. This team made sure to let the natural beauty of their surroundings shine through, accenting it with impeccable floral design, boho gowns from Stone Fox Bride, rentals from Rent Patina and some added one-of-a-kind details we’ll wait for you to discover for yourself!

From the stylists, Karma Flowers: We wanted to create a Neo-hippie-Earth-lovers style wedding and were inspired by the gorgeous natural scenery at Cedar Lakes Estate in Port Jervis, NY. Wedding Paper Divas provided cute whimsical invites with purple feathers which helped us choose purple tones as an accent color. Stone Fox Bride wedding gowns were the perfect bohemian style to go with this shoot and when we saw their gowns in violet, as in real weddings, we started planning everything around the gowns. We kept our groom casual, with rolled up pants, and often shirtless and barefoot. (Can we start a trend here?) We “tattooed” our bride and groom with metallic Flash Tattoos in gold and silver, which reflected the light so well and really popped in the photos. Karma Flowers created an amazing flower crown with feathers, yellow peonies, Purple Smoke bush and flowing bouquets to compliment both the colors in the gowns and the natural setting. Rent Patina set up a perfect lounge area with a teepee, wooden stools, lanterns, hammock, pillows and rugs; the perfect scene for everyone to sit and start a drum circle. We wanted to create a very natural, wild, and free feeling in every aspect of this wedding.

Color was truly the most influential piece of the overall vision for this styled shoot. We knew we would be working with the vibrant colors of the Stone Fox Bridal gowns set against the browns and neutrals of the Cedar Lakes Estate backdrop. Our focus was to complement both with the flower and greens choices. The free form bouquet was a mix of Clare de Lune yellow peonies, purple Smoke Bush, blue Delphinium, and purple Scabiosa among cascading greens. The result was a saturated color against the airiness of the dresses, and we tied in the floral crown by using many of the same elements in addition to pheasant feathers. The second bouquet was a mix of pink Peonies, red ranunculus, and blue Thistle and the color popped really well in the shade of the pine trees. The dried orange headpiece and tassel necklace designs were inspired by the bouquet, using some of the same elements and adding the Scabiosa and Delphinium of the first bouquet to marry the two looks.

The colors and stem choices were then directly translated into the tablescape designs. The first centerpiece mirrored the bouquet and we used blue plates, patterned napkins and a beautiful leather and fabric table runner. The look was completed with the dried oranges and petite candlesticks. The second tablescape had more of a refined main piece, complemented by deconstructed smaller pieces in brass vessels. The look was completed with the Wedding Paper Diva menus and loose stems to provide both color and texture on the plate.

  • If I know the beautiful and stylish Karvellas sisters, not one stone will be left unturned while preparing for your wedding. They are thorough, conscientious, and detail oriented. I have perused the pictures of previous weddings prepared by Lisa and Stephanie, and my only disappointment is that i am already married. Hey, an anniversary party might be a great idea. I definitely would trust them with the planning and implementation of any of my special parties. <3
