Pretty Palm Springs Wedding
Nothing sounds better than a warm-weather getaway on a crisp (understatement of the century) Monday morning! This Palm Springs wedding will make you lust not just for the balmy weather but also for the stunning, bright Viceroy Hotel setting, the drop-dead-gorgeous dinner seating and the sweet vintage details in every nook and cranny. Your “pretty-meters” are about to hit dangerous levels. Thanks for sending it, Kyle Hale Photography!
From the bride. Our wedding was a destination wedding in Palm Springs, California with 75 of our closest friends and family who came from Seattle and New York. We wanted the wedding to feel warm and welcoming to all of our guests and not over the top. The wedding took place at the Viceroy, where there are three separate areas for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. That made it fun, as we weren’t locked into one look.
I found these great 1920s fortune teller cards online that were illustrated by the artist Dwig. A woman on Etsy had collected the whole set and sold the scanned images online for $3 for the lot. My mom is a great with printing and she printed the cards out so they were the size of playing cards with our program design on the back of them. They were a fun keepsake.
The table seating cards were made from vintage wedding and couples’ photos from the 1930s – 1960s. I sourced a few lots online through ebay and etsy. This was my favorite project! My dad made 2 large frames for me and placed painted cork board inside and then he stretched lace over the cork board. We used long sewing push pins to secure the pictures. The reception was in a beautiful outdoor space and we wanted it to feel romantic and a bit vintage farmhouse with lace runners, big wooden tables, loads of votive candles, and overhead lights.
Any advice for brides planning their weddings now? It’s easy to get caught up in a million details and usually the details matter most to the bride. If something isn’t perfect, the guests (and probably the groom) will never know it. If you have fun, your guests will too and that’s what they will remember.
