Wintry Atlanta Wedding

Here at Ruffled, we just love a couple who isn’t afraid to face the weather in order to get the exact look they’re going for. Savannah and Rob wanted a Chronicles of Narnia-inspired wedding – a winter wedding with woodsy elements and a touch of whimsy and elegance. Teale Photography captured every element of their day perfectly, don’t you think?

From the bride, Savannah: We wanted to create a combination of elegance and rustic. With the setting of a farm, we knew it would feel rustic, but we wanted to also bring in a touch of elegance to make it a little unexpected! Our theme was sort of Narnia inspired with a less wintry feel. We used lots of candlelight, natural decor (pine cones, manzanita branches, baby’s breath) to create a very woodland type feel but the candlelight made it feel nice and warm inside!

The color scheme was very natural, to fit with the theme. My bridesmaids wore navy dresses, and the groomsmen wore gray. But I didn’t want lots of bright colors to distract from that very natural feel/theme we were going for. We had bells and lace with our guests names on them for the place settings that also served as our send off and wedding favors! I had lots of friends help me make them! They were very simple, but fun for our guests to ring spontaneously when they wanted me and my husband to kiss!

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? I am fortunate with friends who are very creative and do event planning, so I was able to get lots of help from them! It made the process so much fun and enjoyable having good friends be a part of the process! It kept me relaxed and a little more stress free having close friends involved! If you know people who can help you with the little details, ask! They will most likely be honored to help!
