Festive Christmas Celebration Shoot
Arina Borodina and Love Sweet Love Weddings & Events recently teamed up for their first styled shoot together, with a shared vision of a rustic glam Christmas. With deep red and burgundy floral design from Emlily Floral and accents of gold and forest green, this shoot definitely has us feeling the holiday spirit.
From the shoot designer, Nichelle of Love Sweet Love Weddings & Events: I think it was fate that Arina and I met. We were both looking to do a styled shoot, and my concept was to do a Christmas styled shoot because I love Christmas! It just so happened that she wanted to do a Christmas shoot! She and I collaborated on ideas we had for the shoot and we came up with what ended up being a rustic glam Christmas. I wanted to use a deep red color because I feel it looks so romantic and green because that’s the color that completely reminds me of all things Christmas. I decided to use touches of white to incorporate the idea of “snow” and I also thought gold would be a great accent color (especially because it is one of my favorite colors!) Once we had our ideas put together, Arina and I searched out our vendors and got extremely lucky with the ones we found!
McCormick Home Ranch in Camarillo became the perfect spot for our shoot with its green & white house and abundance of trees on the property, and Sally McCormick was so kind and easy to work with at her property. Patricia of the Vintage Owl was so amazing, she said we could use any piece we wanted to use for our shoot, and she definitely had some incredible pieces. I wanted a great lounge area and the gold couch she had fit perfectly with this shoot. To accent the lounge area, she had a great sled, so we decide to wrap presents to put alongside the couch. I had the inspiration to do a “hot chocolate” set-up because it’s the perfect winter drink. For the dessert table, I wanted to do a neat backdrop, so I made sparkly gold pine cones and strung them from the pine tree the dessert table was sitting under.
I worked with Ali from The Sugar Lab on creating a gorgeous rustic glam two-tiered cake; it turned out even prettier than I could have imagined! I also asked her if she could do mini pies because in my opinion, pie is the quintessential holiday dessert. Ali willingly obliged despite never having made mini pies before, though you would never know because the mini pies were a huge hit at the shoot! As far as florals, I wanted something that was super romantic and Emily from Emlily Florals made everything exactly as I had imagined. The wreaths she made went perfectly with the Christmas theme and were a great accent for the vintage doors for the “ceremony”. My favorites pieces though, were the stunning bouquet and the bridal wreath crown. For the invitations, menus, and escort cards, I worked with Erin of Erin Snyder Designs to create a design that went with the rustic theme and incorporated a little bit of gold in there to make it “glam”. Arina and I pulled this all together in a month and everything turned out even better than I had dreamed! I am so thankful for the amazing group of people I had the opportunity to work with on this shoot!

I love this. Where did the lace cover up come from?
Hi Caitlin,
It came from The Vintage Owl Rentals! Patricia who owns the company has a bunch of lace cloths!
From the gold couch, to the tree stomp cake holder, (not to mention the rustic doors,) are to die for! This will have you in the Chrismas spirit forever! Great job on choosing The Vintage Owl Rentals to style the shoot.
Beautiful shoot! Do you know where the bride’s red lace top is from?
Thanks
