Bridal Shower Inspiration
I absolutely love the idea of an intimate bridesmaids tea party… especially when it’s as dreamy as this one thought up by the wonderfully talented Jennifer of Jennifer Laura Design. Flowing fabrics and fresh florals were captured beautifully by Bertuzzi Photography, while the warm summer sun offered the perfect lighting.
From the designer, Jennifer: The inspiration for this shoot came from the Rifle Paper Co. “will you be my bridesmaid” cards that I found and thought were SO beautiful. I wanted to create a dreamy and ethereal shoot based on those pretty cards. The idea was that the bride had put together this tea party to ask her bridesmaids to be in her wedding. We hung fabric streamers from the trees and the wind was so perfect that day – it just brought the streamers to life. To get that ethereal look I used a sheer tablecloth which I think is an interesting choice since you can still see the rustic farmhouse table underneath.
For the flowers I used pink peonies and a pretty lavendar limonium with just a hint of seeded eucalyptus. Bourbon and Bloom provided our chairs, teapot, and vases. Their pieces are so special and unique that it added so much to the tablescape. For the dessert spread I wanted to do something very simple and just purchased cakes from the supermarket – ask them not to add the decorative piping for a simple streamlined (and affordable!) look. I added rock candy strung up with ribbons above the dessert cart for a bit of fun and whimsy.
