Kate Spade Inspired Wedding Event
So we may have an obsession with gold, but who can blame us? Add some hot pink and polka dots, and we’re set for life. b.loved Wedding Design and Styling made our day with this Kate Spade inspired wedding event. Captured by Anneli Marinovich Photography, this workshop was for wedding pros, but the setting would work just as perfectly for a wedding. Absolutely head over heels about the cake frame!
From the stylist, Louise of b.loved Wedding Design and Styling: Earlier this year I was approached by the team behind The Editorial Wedding workshops to style their inaugural event in the UK, teaching professional wedding photographers the tricks of the trade in shooting, editing and submitting their work for publication in the international wedding media. I was asked to design and style the ‘styled shoot’ element of the day – an open brief with no set theme!
I wanted to create a fun and exciting concept to capture a fun & fresh idea to inspire brides. I’m currently loving the trend towards bold, citrus-y colors so picked a bright pink palette against a monochrome background, inspired by the sense of fun, use of color and clever girly touches by one of my favorite designers, Kate Spade. Teaming hot pink and gold against a monochrome backdrop creates a striking table display, with statement floral center pieces adding elegance and prettiness. Using gold accents lifts the whole palette with fun contemporary touches like the gold dipped glassware and polka-dot plates. The stripes and polka-dot graphics are carried throughout the paper elements – a fun & modern suite with added sparkle! Giant balloons and tassels add another touch of fun while the escort card display is a totally unique concept – tassels hung between two giant balloons! A super cute element of the shoot was the cake & dessert table! Framing the cake is a simple & fun way to create a feature.
Throughout the design I was conscious to include elements that couples could realistically incorporate into their day, whether DIY elements or cleverly sourced props. I think the shoot fits perfectly with the fresh and fun style of Ruffled, and hope you think so too!
