Confetti Filled California Wedding
Every now and again we get a wedding that reminds us of the ultimate dance party. Just one glance at these images from Sarah Maren Photographers, and you know you’re looking at a group who loves to have fun, and it’s no question that Summer and Greg brought buckets of that fun to their own wedding day.
From the bride, Summer: My vision for the wedding was something colorful, comfortable, and FUN! I’m not a terribly artistic or creative person, so my wedding planner took my general ideas, and created the wedding of my dreams! Something fun that we incorporated, which I first experienced at my brother’s Peruvian wedding, was the Hora Loca, a South American tradition. When the party feels like it’s winding down, out come balloons and all kinds of props for people to have fun with. It was a blast!
My wedding was soft, colorful, and personal. The color theme that we started with was a dark teal, mustard yellow, and a reddish-orange. Some accent colors were added along the way, as well. Almost the entire wedding was DIY! My mother and her best friend, my wedding planner, really put their heart and soul into creating my wedding from scratch, making nearly every detail by hand. The end result was something deeply personal and exactly us.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Pick your battles! Some things we ended up just letting go, while others we really had to stand our ground on. The day of the wedding, RELAX!! Enjoy your friends and family, and the whole process. If something goes wrong, chances are no one will even know what they’re missing! The guests won’t know if the flowers aren’t exactly what you wanted, or if the cake is the wrong flavor. Just go with it and enjoy your day.
