Vintage England Wedding
This Lewes wedding is so fantastic, it had to be broken into two parts! This charming couple, Stuart and Lauri, loved the idea of a fun, relaxed vintage style with personal touches. The couple did a lot of DIY planning and styling, choosing a variety of colors and styles for everything. The photos are by the talented Lisa Devlin, a UK photographer.
The couple says: We knew we didn’t want strange, lilac matching bridesmaids’ dresses that got worn once (begrudgingly) so we let each of the bridesmaids choose their own style of dress, asking only that it be floral and colourful. This pretty much summed up the whole day, the favours were 70 different chocolate bars wrapped in a load of different papers, with wonky, hand-stamped name tags that doubled up as place-settings. Everything from the crockery to the picnic blankets, was just a big mess of colours.
I wore a vintage, linen dress bought for £125! It’s from a vintage boutique called Hope and Harlequin in Brighton, England. I did my own hair and make up, and the head-piece is from New Look and cost less than £10.
My bridesmaids and I made the bouquets from flowers bought the night before the wedding at a supermarket!
The groom wore a beautifully cut 1960s inspired suit from J.Lindenberg.
The ceremony was at Lewes Town Hall followed by photographs and a champagne picnic at the very beautiful Southover Grange Gardens.

Truly lovely, the bridesmaid dresses are wonderful!
The bridesmaid’s dresses have gotten lots of attention… but what about the bride’s gown (or is that a blouse/skirt I spy?). Very unique, beautiful, and befitting the day.

Lovin the mix match of dresses and suits! Very ethereal photography too. Beautiful.
Loving those vintage bridesmaid dresses. So much personality. Sweet!
Lewes is definitely not in London
Lovely wedding.
Katie,
There’s also a Lewes in Delaware, United States. Since most of the readers are from the US, you can see how confusing it would be!
I am Japanese.
This site was seen by chance.
It is very lovely.
Where can the dress be bought?
Lindo as combinações!
Oooh just love all these lovely dresses!! Is there any chance someone could let me know where the floral ruffled bridesmaid dress comes from? The photography is absolutely stunning and the whole day looks just wonderful. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
