Sarah + Rick’s Intimate Backyard Chic Wedding, Part I
We have so much good stuff going on today! We will start with this beautiful backyard chic wedding, shot by Jessamyn Harris no less. She shares, “this was a college friend’s wedding. It took place in beautiful Glen Ellen, on the bride’s family friends’ estate (where she spent many summers and weekends). And it was beautiful, with oak trees, Sonoma County views, bright colors, lots of music, and family style dinner.”
From the bride, Sarah:
“My dad passed away when I was seventeen, and one of my keenest regrets is that he couldn’t walk me down the aisle. So instead my dad’s band played the processional. It was really special since they basically hadn’t played together since my dad passed away. They even had my father’s guitar on a stand, symbolizing him, with them while they played.
(The chuppah was) made by friends Judy and Don, made out of cloth that a friend brought back from India, and a Tibetan temple (to reflect Sarah’s mom’s Buddhist beliefs).”
“One of the most important parts of the day to us was the ceremony, which we wrote entirely ourselves. We’re both writers, so we knew we had to rock our vows. I have to say, Rick’s vows had the whole place in tears. Our friend Garth acted as our officiant for the interfaith ceremony — and 12 hours later moved to Jerusalem to attend yeshiva! Our friends Neal and Jessica catered the whole event with wonderful local organic food, from local artisanal cheeses to heirloom tomatoes to pesto crusted chicken. It was the best day of my life, hand down. There was just so much love.”

Hello,
Loved the blog and the pictures. My fiancé and I are looking for a wedding venue for next Augest. Do you know if it is available for rent? I fell in love with the pictures and I just have to ask. Thank you in advance for any information you have.
