Whimsical Circus Wedding Ideas
A circus inspired wedding shoot with plenty of bright hues is just what we need to perk up our day a bit! Photographer Kelsea Holder worked with Taylor Made Events and Design to design a handmade wedding at an early 20th century home, complete with a cigar girl, popcorn, and pinwheels.
From the photographer, Kelsea Holder: Flying Caballos Guest Ranch is the most beautiful and quirky venue tucked in the rolling hills of Edna Valley wine country, just outside downtown San Luis Obispo. This colorfully restored 1905 ranch house is any whimsy vintage couple’s dream. Our team wanted to create a bright, colorful, DIY wedding with the flair of a vintage circus! This ultra-fun wedding has some unique twists such as pinwheel “bouquets” and is packed with good eats and good entertainment. Guests can enjoy gourmet renditions of classics such as hot dogs and funnel cakes and spend the evening playing croquet or sipping some bubbly by the old milk truck drink stand. There is so much to admire about this styled shoot, and if this doesn’t inspire some spunky retro-fun ideas, I don’t know what will!

I adore this shoot. I so wish I had seen this prior to my wedding last year! The lighter blue and red were my colors, and my invites had all of the colors on the cake–and I wanted something like this. Oh, well–guess we’ll have to throw a 5-year (maybe a two year?) recommitment party…
The circus idea in weddings is so huge right now, but I love these ideas! Whimsical yet elegant!
