Vintage Organic Australian Wedding
This wedding seems to be one of the most fun-filled days yet, with games aplenty for guests, both dogs and cats roaming around, and fireworks to round out the evening. The cutest detail? The bride and groom stood in a circle of flowers and shared their vows to each other in whispers. Thank you to the fantastic Julian Beattie for sharing his photographs with us!
From the photographer, Julian: This wedding was absolutely PACKED with details and awesomeness. It was held on a 100% organic avocado farm with a 100% vegetarian menu – a “carefree” ceremony where they whispered their vows .. and yeah, I could go on.
From the bride, Bek: Our wedding idea revolved around a vintage garden party – with cocktails and fun games in the afternoon then a long Italian style feast in the evening followed by dancing!
We had a splash of red going for the color scheme – red & white polka dot bunting, ribbons, table runners etc, mostly red flowers, drinks with red & white candy-striped straws, and of course I wore red shoes…
I am an artist & graphic designer, so I did all of the invitations, menus, name & table no. tags plus LOVE/JOY! tags on drinks & wine bottles. My family helped me put together all the bonbonniere packets (gifts of Baci chocolates in brown paper bags) with name tags and ribbons. I hand painted all of the signs on old bits of wood found around our farm. My mum and I also made red & white polka dot bunting. My partner (Rob) and his dad and friends renovated an old dairy bails on our farm to use as the kitchen/bar/lounge area. Plus they made the wooden benches (or ‘pews’) for the ceremony out of camphor wood from our farm. And a huge outdoor banquet table. The whole thing was pretty much a massive DIY project!
Any advice for brides planning their weddings now? Make sure that whatever you do for your wedding day – it is what you and your husband-to-be would LOVE. And I recommend doing as much of it as you can with friends and family to help as this makes it a very unique and personalized event — make it a fun craft project! (Oh, and definitely get people to help where you can!)

Planning a wedding can be very exciting and exhausting at the same time. You want your wedding to be memorable not only to you but to your guests as well. In an occasion like this, you really want every element of your wedding to be perfect such as the decorations, the theme, and the wedding favors.
Everyone seems to be having such a good time and the pictures capture that beautifully.
First time I’m hearing about organic wedding. Is it pricey?
