Shabby Chic Wedding Ideas

Melanie of She-n-He Photography, along with Three Apples Events, Antiquaria and Zinnia and Company, created a tablescape that is filled to the brim with gorgeous wedding ideas that are simple to achieve and can be done in many different ways. They weaved ribbons in different colors and widths that starred as a table overlay, which laid the foundation for pretty vintage china from Antiquaria. I also loved the hanging teacups that formed a chandelier-like arrangement with flowers “pouring” on the table.

For this inspiration shoot (photography by She-n-He Photography and Design) we wanted to create a striking tea party brunch wedding but with an air of dreaminess and whimsy. Shot at The Inn at Wild Rose Hall, one of Austin’s most naturally stunning venues, the table itself was a beautiful tea service set to stand out against the forest-like background. Antiquaria provided the gorgeous china on the table – elegant plates, teacups, and glasses set on a deep blush tablecloth. We created the woven ribbon topper bring a fun rainbow of colors to the table to offset the formality of the tea sets and china. Leah of Zinnia and Company created stunning low centerpieces of spray and garden roses (traditional tea party fare) mixed with more unusual Spanish moss, poppy pods, seeded eucalyptus and millet. We carried the tea theme throughout – the table number and escort cards, created by She-n-He Photography and Design, were attached to mismatched saucers. Queen of the FrontTIER made an incredible spread from tea sandwiches to scones, mini pies to cookies and on and on. To bring the whimsy, we hung teacups and other tea set pieces from the tree branches overhead and have flowers in some of the pieces, as if creamers were spilling moss or teacups were pouring roses.

The bride we envisioned two dresses for the occasion. To start, she was dressed in a stunning long gown with a draped flowing overlay polkadotted with crystals paired with a gorgeous jeweled collar necklace for some fun. The dress was very ethereal, to look like she floated out of the forest. But for the reception, she would change into something more fun, easy and breezy – a simple short poofy number and a pink rose choker with rose gold sandals, all provided by Gilda Grace Collections. Shot in the early early morning hours to get the best light (which meant starting setup before the crack of dawn!), we couldn’t be more appreciative of all the vendors for their fabulous work!
