Retro Flight Wedding Inspiration

Those of us at Ruffled have a sort of fascination with the nostalgia of flying in the 1960s — think flying glamorously on Panam and TWA. Photographer Olivia Gird worked with Ambiance Luxe Wedding Designs to put together an inspiration shoot stylized around this glamorous era, with pops of sparkly tones for some extra eye candy. We adore the bride’s bright jade silk jacket and her precious pillbox hat, the blue print poster of the couple!

From the photographer, Olivia Gird: In the heyday of air travel, early 1960s, it was an event to fly. It was glamorous with hats and white gloves. Every little piece was special. This stylized shoot was inspired by a touch of 1960’s-era glamour (think Mad Men). In the early springtime I think it’s important to give inspiration to the bride with an out-of-the-box venue, options to wear over her gown and some ways to stay seasonal with decor. DIY mini sky painting favor/escort cards and a hand drawn custom “blueprint” (by a local artist) of the couple give this shoot personal flair!
