Metallic Laguna Beach Wedding

Everything event designer Jesi Haack touches turns to gold — it’s a fact. Pop in some desserts from Sweet and Saucy Shop and images by Mr Haack, and the resulting wedding is nothing short of amazingness. Since the groom is a graphic designer, newlyweds Kelli and Peter went all out designing gorgeous typography-heavy paper goods that have a soft spot in out hearts.

From the bride, Kelli: I envisioned an intimate dinner party where our guests could hang out with each other, relax, and celebrate with us. We opted to skip the dance floor, and extend dinner as long as we could. Our guest list was small, and we wanted to spend time hanging out with our friends and family.

We got to make some of the props for out photo booth, but our favorite project for the wedding was designing the menu and wedding invites. Peter is a graphic designer, so we were able to work together to create exactly what we wanted. The menu was my favorite. Since we designed and printed them ourselves, we were able to put our guests names on the menus.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Number one, get a wedding coordinator. Amber Cowell and Jesi Haack were the most amazing team. They took all of the stress off of us, and we got to enjoy the process. When you are choosing vendors, try to build a team of people who will contribute to the atmosphere you want at your wedding. We hired all our awesome vendors for their excellent work, and their easygoing attitudes. Peter and I wanted the people with us on our wedding day to be people we felt comfortable with.
