Handmade Wedding at Orcutt Ranch
This handmade wedding is proof that when a crafty bride and her mom come together, beautiful things can happen! Throw in an ever so talented photographer like Corinne Krogh and an incredible venue like Orcutt Ranch, and you have one totally amazing wedding. Did I mention the bride and groom’s fun first dance? Go ahead, get comfy in your seat!
From the bride, Michele: My mom and I made the centerpieces, which consisted of cigar boxes that I stained, french lemonade bottles, and different jars/vases collected over the year from various places. We made our own table runners by buying a large amount of blue chevron fabric and cutting them accordingly. I made our wedding favors out of wooden heart magnets with our initials and wedding date stamped on them. Probably the cutest DIY project was made by David’s sister, Sunnie, who made our ring bearer’s sign and the flower girl’s basket.
We went to downtown LA’s flower district for all the flowers two days before the wedding for the centerpieces and miscellaneous vases. It was difficult and I almost thought it wasn’t going to work, but everything turned out great in the end! I owe my mom so much for her help and for supporting my crazy idea! Although stressful, it was a great way for us to bond I’m glad we did it.
For our ceremony programs, the table numbers, and the seating chart labels I used free online printable templates and added my own text to them. The botanical “groom” and “bride” signs were also free online printables. Our “Mr & Mrs” sweetheart table banner was a lucky find from a little store called Daisy Shoppe – when I spotted it I fell in love and knew it’d be perfect to fit our botanical-themed wedding. Definitely one of my favorites!
