Handmade New Jersey Wedding
While this New Jersey wedding is sweet enough, it’s made even sweeter by the fact that the bride handmade so very many of the lovely details you see here. Love Me Do Photography captured the day, including the flowers provided and arranged by Love n Fresh Flowers and the bride. Get ready for some yellow + blue goodness:
From the bride, Christine: In the very initial stages of planning our wedding, we decided to focus on what the day would feel like and not necessarily what it would look like. It was important to make it really feel like “us” which we achieved through all of the handmade elements and curated vintage pieces. Things I made included the cross-stitch table numbers, the fabric garlands that hung above the reception, the ribbon boutonnieres for groomsmen, the cement candle holders, the pinback buttons as part of the seating display, and the pom pom garland that framed us at the ceremony.
Our family and friends all contributed to the wedding which we feel so grateful to have received. My Mom and Aunts helped make hundreds upon hundreds of pom poms. One of my bridesmaids is a graphic designer who designed our invitation suite and the imagery that later appeared on our pinback buttons and packaging for our honey jar favors. When it made sense to hire out for projects, we first looked to the handmade community and DIY businesses. After the wedding, one of the best compliments we continuously received was that when folks arrived at the wedding they instantly knew it was ours.
From the groom, DJ: Music has always been a huge part of our lives. We both have backgrounds in college radio and journalism and we met while working for the same music marketing firm in Boston, so it was really important to us that we nailed the playlist. One selfish highlight was getting to play Madness, the Ramones, the Bouncing Souls, and Rancid in succession during the reception. Getting an entire dancefloor of friends and family shaking and smiling might go down as one of the greatest accomplishments of my life.

Mustard is my favorite color!!! And I love the lace on the bride’s dress!
These flowers are incredible. The invites and banners are a really fun idea and good way to show the couple’s personalities!
Beautiful, beautiful wedding, but someone married them. Why no credit for them?
Because most likely who officiated the wedding was a family friend or relative.
