Southwestern Palm Springs Wedding
I think we’ve all noticed a recent uptick in the trend of southwestern wedding style, and I for one am thrilled to see all the different looks under this umbrella! Photographer Abi Q and Enjoy Events Co. joined forces in this phenomenal Palm Springs wedding to bring us some seriously beautiful nuptials. Can I just say how madly in love I am with the couple’s modern wedding invitations?
From the bride, Nicole: We wanted the wedding to be modern and fresh, but also a little bit bohemian to incorporate our love of vintage finds. We were inspired by the location – at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains – to incorporate natural elements of the surrounding landscape to keep the decor feeling earthy and not overly done.
I fell in love with the gown immediately. It had a modern shape, which I was looking for, but was still very feminine and romantic. I also loved the texture of the fabric – I thought it was perfect for my fall wedding. I found the dress at Nordstrom with my mother, she helped me decide on the dress and also purchased it for me – it was something she had been looking forward to forever – very sweet.
The color scheme was inspired by the desert: pale peach, smoky persimmon, bone, agave green, natural linen. The mid-century modern architecture in Palm Springs inspired the lounge area and bentwood dining chairs – dipped in white and turquoise for a pop of color. Tribal print textiles were incorporated throughout the decor – from Ikat and Navajo throw pillows to brightly colored chevrons painted on the pedestals that flanked the ceremony location. Loose ribbons adorned the backs chairs of the bride and groom. Guests waved wands of feathers and ribbon as the new couple were announced. Succulent seating cards, place settings, menus, invitations, and all other paper goods were DIY by the groom, who is a brand identity designer.

Love the vintage dreamy look. Good job on photographer’s part.
I really like the desert inspired colors, but I also like how you incorporated a Navajo and tribal themes as well. Having wands of feathers waved as they announced you is such a unique idea! Amazing job on all the DIY crafts as well!
Beautiful! The best thing about southwestern weddings are the COLORS! Love the wild florals, too.
Succulents, color and bold fonts. This wedding has some many lovely details 🙂
