Modern Mediterranean Wedding Ideas
When we heard Yoleine Dumarsais of Yellow Bird Events was putting together a shoot mixing a modern aesthetic with cool Mediterranean style, we jumped out of our seats a little. What’s more beautiful than rich water tones, gold accents, and the incredible setting of the chic London West Hollywood hotel? Helping to capture the gorgeousness was Fondly Forever Photography, who completely knocked it out of the park.
From the stylist, Yoleine: I’m a big fan of prints, bold colors, and GOLD! I was inspired by a brass mirror frame I saw at one of my many shopping trips to Anthropologie. Immediately the thought of pretty “Gold Rings” for a background began to come into plan. Knitting rings were used to put together the rings for the dessert backdrop, ceremony backdrop, and table numbers. They were spray painted antique gold to give them metal appeal and mirrors were placed behind a few of them.
I wanted to mix Mediterranean prints and raw textures with bold Blues to bring in a very romantic and unique feel to the table. I wanted to also keep a modern appeal to the mix so the rings played an important role throughout the set-up. The table linen was a very rich blue with ring patterns throughout. The table was paired with textured terracotta vessels. Instead of candle votives, amber glass was used in tiny piles with the candle votives lit from underneath. The table napkin rings and table number were hand-made from gold wiring to create a coiling effect. We couldn’t be happier with the turnout! Every vendor really had their hand and talents shown through this shoot!
