An Irish and Scottish Wedding in Barcelona

How could you possibly go wrong with a destination wedding in Barcelona? This intimate celebration between an Irish bride and Scottish groom is everything we could hope for – a relaxed day full of pretty details thanks to Marry Me in Spain and Phlox, all captured by En Route Photography. One of our favorite deets is the sweet snapshot guestbook display — take a peek!

From the event designers, Marry Me in Spain: Anna, the pretty Irish bride, and Darryl, the Scottish groom, wanted an intimate wedding but with lots of details for the guests and a special care for the decoration. They chose Masia Ribas as the perfect place to celebrate a wedding where nature and rustic come together; the views and the gardens of the Catalan villa make any event unique and beautiful, leaving anyone speechless. Because of the rain, we celebrated the wedding inside the house, but we still got the touch of a country and delicate wedding we were looking for, through all the details and the exquisite decoration. The color palette was white, green and pink, colors that were mixed perfectly into the rustic and elegant theme we wanted to reach. The ceremony was full of flowers, details and love. We kept the doors open to let the guests enjoy the view of nature. Even raining it was beautiful.

The bride wore a romantic dress designed by Gwendolynne and a so lovely country bouquet made with mini daisies, astilbes, mini pale roses and senecio, walked down the aisle with the Moon River song, beautifully played by the Opera classic trio. For the cocktail hour, while the catering was serving tasty tapas like the show-cooking smoked salmon or the vichyssoise and gazpacho shots, the guests enjoyed taking pictures of themselves with the Polaroid camera in the beautiful backdrop of flowers. They could hang them later on a perfectly rustic ladder. The wheelbarrow full of ice and fresh beers, the DIY garland and the old barrels keep giving the rustic touch to the cocktail.

For the dinner, a long table was decorated with some sweet and lovely centerpieces into white stripped trays full of baby’s breath, mini daisies and pale pink carnations, astilbes and dahlias. An olive twig tied with rope was used as the sitting. For the groom and bride’s chairs we wanted to make them special and we decorated them with green leaves and pink flowers. They had a big handmade rustic garland “JUST MARRIED” hanging just behind them decorated with more olive twigs. A sweet table full of tasty desserts was chaired by an unbelievable chocolate naked cake with fresh red fruits on the top. Each guest gave their advice to the bride and the groom in the rustic guestbook. Spanish Wine bottles “Sangre de Toro” wrapped in sackcloth were the perfect wedding favors to give the final touch of this precious, convivial and rustic celebration.
