Fun-filled English Countryside Wedding

Fun-filled English Countryside Wedding

When Esther (who you may remember from her gorgeous work on vintage china, posted a year ago) sent over her wedding, shot by Charlotte Broster,  I was immediately delighted! Esther and her husband Drew look so completely in love, which is something I love to see in wedding photos. I also love all the fun and quirky elements woven throughout  the day like Esther’s sneakers with bright yellow laces, and the funky ice cream truck that came to serve some sweets to their guests.

From the bride, Esther:

Ours was a wedding of two parts, Small personal ceremony and then a bit of a English country village knees up of a party! It was vintage in feel with our outfits having walked out of the 50’s with a full swing band, we had lots of DIY elements and tried to use independant or local suppliers where ever we could. We wanted to make choices we could look back on and be proud of, and we couldn’t do everything we would of wanted and the wedding day like marriage takes comprimises, but basically it was fabulous!

My veil was handed down to me from Drew’s mothers wedding outfit. She has sadly passed away, so it was great to be able to include something of hers.

We moved to Hampshire just over 2 years ago and as its between our two families and our friends in London it was great for our wedding also. We had been so welcomed by our local community since we moved here we couldn’t think of having it anywhere else!

Some advice from Esther:

Start early, and don’t let people tease you about having a wedding folder (it was my life saver!!). Talk to your groom alot! and from the outset try and have things you are both responsible for, and at the end when it all goes to pot be kind to each other and those around you 🙂 It will be special even with slight imperfections.
