California Hippie Chic Inspiration

California Hippie Chic Inspiration

The best thing that Mondays can bring on chilly mornings like these is that we can almost peek at Spring coming right around the corner, and it’s only getting closer. This very favorite season of ours, combined with the talents of Tinywater Photography and Enjoy Events Co. is bringing us the San Franciscan flair with lots of inspiration for the hopelessly romantic and bohemian at heart.

From the ladies of Enjoy Events Co.: We envisioned the concept behind this California/Hippie chic shoot when the song “San Francisco” came on the radio. You know the one, “when you’re going to Saaaaan Fraaaaaaancisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your haaaaaaaaaair.” Being based in the Bay Area we knew we wanted to create a shoot that reflected the sun, splendor and natural beauty that is California (sf in particular) and what better venue then Foreign Cinema. This venue is quintessential San Francisco with its industrial yet organic feel. We wanted to incorporate lots of CA/Hippie chic things. Like water color, butterflies, flowy dresses, gladiator sandals and guitars. We created over a hundred hand cut-out + watercolor butterflies to place on the industrial wall to evoke a romantic vibe with a twist. We collaborated with the wonderful team over at twigss on the florals to design “wildflower” like blooms with a hint of “hippie”. We collected copper vessels and wood boxes to place the flowers in. From the stunningboutonniere, bouquet, floral “head piece” and centerpieces we loved the color the flowers brought to the table! For the table top we wanted to incorporate color with turquoise pottery plates, gold brushed flatware and a hand-painted a yellow table runner. We keep with natural hues like cream, yellow, copper and blushes to extenuate the hippie chic vibe. The shoot was captured perfectly to evoke the California feel we hoped for by Tinywater!

  • Oh, that’s pretty. It’s below freezing here in Illinois, but we’re also eager for the arrival of spring, and the opportunity to see more beautiful wedding work here at Ruffled.

  • ooo so pretty! her hair is so pretty! and the groom is a total babe! am i only the only who noticed something about the pic where they are facing each other?!? sorry if that was too much ;)so beautiful!

  • This is so lovely. Probably more bohemian than hippy… I can’t see her pit hairs, and she’s too well tanned and made up. Gorgeous, BTW. Lovely.

  • Twigss Floral Studio did the flowers for my wedding. I absolutely LOVED the work they did!! The girls were amazing working with me and I am so excited to see them featured on here!!! I highly recommend them to anyone getting married near the San Francisco Bay Area!!

  • oh this is such fun – I’m sing the songs – what a wild child – free spirit style.
I so love that beautiful pendant !

  • When I reached the end of this post, I realized that I had been smiling HUGELY the whole time…and I think that is SO what a wedding should be…
I don’t think, in all of the posts and weddings I’ve viewed, that I ever had that kind of happy, HAPPY response…
I absolutely adore everything about this wedding…the yellow butterflies…
but mostly the way those two look at one another. Yeah. That is why I love to design wedding jewelry.
    It gives me HOPE.
    I still believe in love.
    Especially here, at Ruffled.

  • A huge thanks to the ladies of Ruffled for this amazing feature! We had SO much fun making this inspiration shoot become a reality with the other vendors. We can’t wait to share more of our photos with the lovely Ruffled readers in the future!
